Can the UX of an e-commerce website influence buying behaviour?

Typically, I do not make a shopping list because I enjoy the spontaneity of shopping and the excitement of finding new and exciting products at the store.

However, I always remind my subconscious mind to buy healthy and nutritious products for my family.

Recently, when my partner received an unfavourable medical report, I took it upon myself to choose and consume healthy food for the family. I was responsible for ensuring that we ate well and cared for our health.

Although we share the responsibility of housework, it was my turn that week to order the household essentials.

Grocery shopping is one of my favourite household chores because it allows me to explore and experiment with new products in the market.

I love browsing the aisles and discovering new ingredients, flavours, and recipes. Unlike my partner, who tends to stick to the same items week after week, I like to mix things up and try new things.

When grocery shopping, I like to take my time and carefully consider each item’s ingredients and nutritional values. The process is meditative and enjoyable. I have a whole method for my browsing, and I like to ensure I get the best products for my family.

So, when I was in the dairy section to purchase milk, I saw wide varieties I would otherwise have missed. Because online allows you to look at all available options, I discovered the entire mammoth section on milk.

I find the website particularly helpful because it empowers users to make informed choices.
